Managed Services

Managed Physical Server

Operate physical servers across OS, capacity, patching, hardware health, backup, access, and data-centre coordination.

Physical servers require attention to both hardware and operating systems. We combine hardware-health monitoring with disciplined configuration, patching, backup, and capacity management.

When this service is needed

  • Critical servers operate in an office, colocation facility, or data centre.
  • Hardware and OS health are not centrally monitored.
  • Patching and backup lack schedules or evidence.
  • Incidents require vendor or data-centre coordination.

Scope

  • Hardware, warranty, firmware, OS, service, and dependency inventory.
  • CPU, memory, disk, RAID, temperature, network, and event monitoring.
  • OS hardening, patching, accounts, SSH, firewall, and certificates.
  • Capacity trends, storage cleanup, log rotation, and configuration review.
  • Backup monitoring, restore coordination, and recovery runbooks.
  • Incident triage and remote-hands or vendor coordination.

Operating model

  1. Onboard: establish inventory, baselines, access, dependencies, and ownership.
  2. Observe: monitor service, capacity, security, backup, and cost indicators.
  3. Operate: handle incidents, requests, changes, patches, and routine work.
  4. Improve: review recurring problems, risks, technical debt, and optimisation.
  5. Report: communicate activity, findings, trends, and next priorities.

Service controls

  • Responsibility matrix and escalation paths.
  • Change records, approval, and rollback for material changes.
  • Runbooks and evidence for recurring work.
  • Recurring review of capacity, lifecycle, risk, and cost.

Intended outcomes

Physical servers gain visible health, planned lifecycle, controlled configuration, and a clear response path for hardware or OS issues.
