Bulk Client Migration to a VPS Environment

Ten client websites were running on reseller hosting with limited resources and control. The migration needed to preserve data while keeping disruption as short as possible.

Approach

• Inventoried domains, application versions, databases, email, DNS, and dependencies.
• Prepared the VPS, baseline hardening, web server, certificates, monitoring, and backups.
• Performed an initial copy followed by a final synchronisation to shorten the cutover window.
• Validated critical functions, forms, scheduled jobs, SSL, and email before changing DNS.
• Maintained a recovery plan for every migration stage.

Outcome

All websites moved into a more controlled environment. The team gained better resource visibility, documented configuration, and a clearer route for future capacity increases.
